School Programs

  • Stories Program: Each morning a staff member, student, or guest speaker shares a story that addresses an important life skill or lesson.
  • Breakfast Program: Fruit and breakfast snacks are provided every morning to ensure that students have adequate nourishment for the day.
  • Direct Instruction: Intensive tutoring for students to help them reach grade-level proficiency in reading and math.
  • Service Learning: Students prepare lunch for the whole school and volunteer in the community for credit.
  • Personalized Attention: Staff are always available to work with students on personal and academic strengths and weaknesses.
  • Life Skills Program: Every Friday student learn valuable life skills including study skills, communication, cultural awareness, and leadership..
  • Arts Program: An opportunity for students to express creativity through art history, painting, drawing, video, and music production.
  • Film Studies : Students develop critical thinking skills by viewing films as works of art an analyzing them the same way as literature or any other academic work.
  • Concurrent Enrollment with the University of Colorado - Denver: Students can take college courses through the CU Succeed program while enrolled at Boulder Prep.

    Portfolio to personalize college applications.
    A.C.T. prep class and test scores for accountability.
    Corrective instruction to fill gaps in grade level proficiency.
    Ethics for everyday life.
    Skills for an ever-changing society.
  • E-Learning Program: On-Line Software allows students an independent study opportunity in courses that we do not normally offer.
  • Peace Leadership: We offer classes that include two peace curricula - "Education for Peace" and "Peace Jam". Through this program, students learn about creating a conflict-free, non-violent environment and complete a peace related project.
  • Scholarship Program: The Boulder Prep Board of Trustees and Faculty have created a scholarship program where funds raised throughout the year are awarded to graduates to help them pursue post-secondary education.
