- Graduation
- May 2006: 18 students participated in the graduation ceremony held at the Chateaux at Fox Meadows. Over 50% of the graduates had already earned college credit, and some had earned as many as 9 credits. We had two young mothers earn their diplomas and others with various obstacles that were overcome to reach this special day. 70% of the graduates had plans to attend post-secondary programs in the fall. - I-Volunteer! Day
- April 2006: For three years in a row, students from Boulder Prep have volunteerd at local non-profit agencies for I-Volunteer Day. This year, 8 seniors installed the Childrens Shoe Project Exhibit at the Dairy Center for Blue Sky Brige, a local child advocacy center. CBS interviewed students and the program aired on the local news. Photos Video
- Art From Ashes
- April 2006: Art from Ashes, a local non-profit agency, come to Boulder Prep and facilitated a poetry workshop. This activity was sponsored by the Boulder Valley School District. Students learned how to tap into their creativity and use poetry as a way to express themselves. Photos
- Body Worlds
- March 2006: Thanks to the generousity of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, we were able to take the entire school to the Body Worlds exhbit for free. Also, a few dedicated students made sandwiches and packed lunches for everyone.
- 3rd Annual Pasta Potluck
- March 2006: A night filled with dancing, great food, family, and friends. Students from the Latin Dance Theater performed the first two acts in the play they are working on called "La Gitanilla" (The Little Gypsy Girl). This project has been sponsored by the Boulder Arts Commission. The One of our graduates also performend with his band. Thanks to everyone who attended. Photos
- Microbiology
- Jan. - March 2006: Dr. Diana Nemergut from the University of Colorado was kind enough to volunteer teach a microbiology class for us. She opened up her lab to student for a genetic engineering experiment. This was a wonderful addition to our science program this year. Thank you to Diana. Photos
- Violence Prevention
- Aug 2005. - March 2006: A grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health allowed us to offer three blocks of Violence Prevention. Sheila Rawlins from Protbation, Teresa Hernandez from Safehouse, and Davian Gagne from MESA helped teach the class. The students learned different prevention strategies and created some fun final projects including their own web-page and some amazing poems. Click
- 5th Annual Chili Cookoff
- November 2005: We had a great turnout of parents and chili. These events are great opportunties for families to check in with faculty about their students' performance Thanks to everyone who participated.
- Ron Heagy
- November 2005: A quadriplegic guest speaker came to talk to our students abotu how "Life is an Attiude" and making the best of each day. This was an incredible presentation, one that the students and staff will never forget. For more information visit www.rollonron.com. Photos
- BPHS Fall Open House
- September 2005: Thank you to everyone who came and supported the beginning of a new academic year. We had a great turnout and alway look forward to meeting parents and sharing our success with the community. Thanks to Community FoodShare for the food that was used for the delicious taco bar.
